Or how about laminate countertops? If it has deep burns, chip-outs or peels, you can look for do-it-yourself guide on how to fill the gaps with epoxy glue and how to re-glue the laminate. Another example: the common systems found in all your rooms. One is your lighting system. Any bulbs not working shall be replaced. Switches that seem grounded needs to fixed. Any outlets that are loose, should be screwed back for safety.

- Cabinets at home should also be inspected. Every one looks at cabinets. Therefore, try repainting them and fix-up any loose hinges. If locks are damaged, have them replaced. Pretty sure, it won"t cost much to have them repaired this way.

- If you have plaster walls, you can always do something to hide away those cracks and those irritating nail holes. You can use spackling compound to fill the gaps, smoothen it when it dries with sandpaper and use sealants. Then, you can repaint the walls to give it a brand new look.

These are some of the things you can repair from the inside. However, simple repairs you can do outside of your home can equally increase its value. Moreover, it is equally important too. Here are some of the simple repairs you can do outdoors:

- You can try to check your fences to see if they have damaged parts. If they do have them replaced or repainted.

- What about your mailbox? If it looks as if a person would get tetanus from holding it, then better replace it.

- The doors of your home should also be working fine. Any damaged knobs and handles should be replaced.

- Roof should also be checked for minor problems. Experts should handle complicated roof problems. But if it were leaks, you can use sealants to cover the small leak. If a few shingles was damaged, have it replaced.
